The centre is a place for practicing the Four Foundations of Mindfulness Meditation (Satipatthana Vipassanā Bhāvanā), Vipassana meditation in Mahasi Sayadaw tradition.
HistorySati Meditation Centre founded on 1st August
2010. The founder of the centre is Sayalay Medhānanda. Sayalay
Medhānanda is a Theravada Nun. She became a nun on 1st March 2006.
She began to practice the Four Foundations of Mindfulness Meditation
(Satipatthana Vipassanā Bhāvanā) when she was 29 years old in 1988.
She had practices the Four Foundations of Mindfulness Meditation for
almost a decade in monasteries across Malaysia and Myanmar for
long-term and short-term intensive retreat. She has understood the
meaning of Thirty-seven Qualities after many years of practicing the
Four Foundations of Mindfulness Meditation. She also fully
understood the Four Noble Truths which are Suffering, Cause of
Suffering, Cessation of Suffering, and Path to the Cessation of
Suffering. She established right view and confidence on Dhamma. She
believed by practicing the Four Foundations of Mindfulness
Meditation is truly applying the Noble Eightfold Path and Five
Aggregates. By doing so, we will be able to attain enlightenment
(Nibbāna); free from mental and physical suffering which is
cessation of the cycle of death and rebirth. Sayalay Medhānanda hopes everyone can have
the opportunity to learn the Four Foundations of Mindfulness
Meditation and realise the impermanence, suffering, and non-self.
With that in mind, she decided to establish Sati Meditation Centre. Mission
Sati Meditation Centre is a place for
practicing the Four Foundations of Mindfulness Meditation. The
centre offered a beautiful environment, clean and quiet place for
meditation practice. Sayalay Medhānanda will take care of the food
hygiene and nutrition for meditators. She also gives detailed
guidance on every meditator. She hopes every serious meditator will
benefit from Dhamma at the centre. Sādhu! Sādhu! Sādhu! (Excellence!
Excellence! Excellence!) As for promoting the meditation, Sayalay
Medhānanda has planned to begin in four areas:
Finally, Sayalay Medhānanda hope devotees
can support the centre and actively participating in the centre’s
meditation activities, in order to become a right believe Buddhist. Thanks to all devotees who had read this
